ফেনীতে প্রাইভেটকার ভর্তি গাঁজাসহ এক মাদক ব্যবসায়ীকে গ্রেফতার করেছে র্যাপিড অ্যাকশন ব্যাটালিয়নের (র্যাব) সদস্যরা। শনিবার ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়কের মহিপাল এলাকা তাকে গাঁজাসহ গ্রেফতার করা হয়।
র্যাব জানায়, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে র্যাব জানতে পারে কুমিল্লা থেকে মাদক ভর্তি একটি গাড়ি চট্টগ্রামের দিকে যাচ্ছে। এমন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে মহাসড়কের ওই এলাকায় একটি চেকপোস্ট বসায় র্যাব।
এ সময় একটি প্রাইভেটকারের (ঢাকা মেট্রো-গ-২১-৮৩৮৫) গতিবিধি সন্দেহ হলে থামতে নির্দেশ দেয়। প্রাইভেটকার না থামিয়ে দ্রুত পালিয়ে যেতে চাইলে র্যাব ধাওয়া দিয়ে গাড়ির গতিরোধ করে। পরে প্রাইভেটকারের ভেতর থেকে ৭৭ কেজি গাঁজাসহ মো. আক্কাছ মিয়াকে (৩৫) গ্রেফতার করা হয়। গ্রেফতারকৃত আক্কাছ মিয়া ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার আখাউড়া থানার আনোয়ারপুর এলাকার মো. ছাদেক মিয়ার ছেলে।
র্যাব আরও জানায়, প্রাথমিক জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে আক্কাছ মিয়া দীর্ঘদিন ধরে বিভিন্ন সীমান্তবর্তী এলাকা থেকে মাদকদ্রব্য সংগ্রহ করে বিভিন্ন কৌশলে দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে পাচার করে আসছে বলে স্বীকার করেছে। উদ্ধারকৃত মাদকদ্রব্যের বাজার মূল্য ছয় লাখ ১৬ হাজার টাকা এবং জব্দকৃত প্রাইভেটকারের মূল্য ২০ লাখ টাকা।
ফেনীর র্যাব-৭-এর সহকারী পুলিশ সুপার মো. নুরুজ্জামান বলেন, গ্রেফতারকৃত আসামি ও উদ্ধারকৃত মাদক ফেনী মডেল থানায় হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে। এ বিষয়ে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হয়েছে।
